What is the Junior League of Des Moines?
The Junior League of Des Moines was founded in 1926 as the Junior Social Service League of Des Moines by Ruth Wallace Wijkman. They joined the Association of Junior Leagues to become the Junior League of Des Moines, Inc. in 1931. Currently, JLDM is one of 305 Junior League chapters in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain.
